03 July 2017

Awards for the best designers and manufacturers of the year were handed out on 3 July 2017 in Essen, Germany, at the iconic Aalto Theatre during the Red Dot Gala. More than 5500 contestants from  54 countries, 39 judges, about 1200 guests at the awards ceremony: these are the figures of the 2017 edition of the famous international competition for designer products.

Osa by Unical is the first designer condensing boiler for residential furnishing that combines technology, ecology, aesthetics and home automation. After the honour of being featured on the 2016 ADI DESIGN INDEX (therefore a candidate for the 2018 Compasso d'Oro, the most illustrious award in the design industry), this year it received the prestigious Red Dot Award.

Three members of the ArtÙ Design Studio team, which was set up with this project, were present at the Gala and awarded the certificate with the coveted red label, before Unical President Catia Vitali. The Gala continued throughout the evening at the Red Dot Design Museum (set up with a smart post-industrial redevelopment project in the majestic spaces of former coal mines) with a party dedicated to designers on the premises of an exhibition that is anything but temporary: Indeed, Osa will remain on display on the first floor, in a room where all the latest domestic based technologies, proposed by the world's major manufacturers will be concentrated for a full year, until June 2018.
